I loved the workout because of the diversity. Going quickly from cardio to weight and strength and weight training is smart and provides and all over body workout. I also think that Lauren, the instructor at Orangetheory in Norwalk, is top notch. She is a true professional and very, very knowledgeable.
I really LOVE that I do not have to think about anything. Gyms used to always inimidate me and I never know what to do. All I need to do is listen to the awesome instructors and focus on pushing myself.
It's intense! Always different. I get very competitive with myself, pushing to get my heart rate up and earn more splat points. Immediate feedback on the screen really motivates me! My workout centers on me yet there is a sense of comradery that pumps me up!! I can only get to OT once a week and I look forward to my time there all week!!
I love that it's challenging and that it's always varying what the workouts are. Not having to do the same thing over and over again is great for the body!
I just wish that the music was a bit different, especially during all outs, I wish there would be a power song that would help you get through, even during the long pushes! Something just to keep the body going!
I like the design of the workout, the variety, and how each class sets different goals. Comparing Fairfield studio to the Redwood City studio that we belong to in California there are a couple of differences that if changed I think would positively impact the Fairfield studio and make it even a more enjoyable experience than it already is.
Treadmill cards were a great addition to Fairfield- however people should be instructed to stick with the same number on the machine throughout every rotation in the class. For example, if you are on Treadmill #5 then you will go to rower #5 and spot #5 in the weight room. It is more organized, creates less confusion and people don't get "upset" if you take their favorite bench, rower, etc.
Also, the one thing we really love about our coaches in Redwood City is their energy. They are constantly actively engaged throughout the whole class- telling you when you are not only halfway through your push but when you have 20 or 10 seconds left and to kick it up if you can. They are very conscious about changing the music at the right time to pump you up during an all out and not leaving the same song to just play out. These little tweaks and active engagement make a world of difference in class setting.
