In short - with my personal life, it’s nice to show up and have someone take over the driver’s seat and can be a passenger while someone helps me be healthier and therefore happier person.
Solid coaches at OTF Ortega!
They respect my personality of not over pushing, etc,. (I can be me and not a spectacle) and read other’s personalities that love to be pushed & appraised. It’s all about boundaries, being effective and respectful of said individual boundaries and encouragement.
It’s very personal, challenging, and goal oriented. You’re not just going to a group class, you’re working towards multiple goals. It’s heart healthy which is important for me and I never have to fight for a spot because you can RSVP and save your spot. So no fighting over machines!
90 minute classes are challenging and get high calories for effective weight loss. Robin and I enjoyed the class and will consider the Ortega location in our workout schedules. Thanks, [FIRST NAME REMOVED]
I like the constant variation in the classes and how the coaches give me consistent fine tuning of my workout techniques so that I don't feel overwhelmed, but I feel like I'm improving over time.
There's pretty much the only two things I don't like about OTF:
1. There are no weights over 50 pounds.
To be clear, I have NO issue with it just being dumbbells, but even if there was just a set of 60 and 70 pound dumbbells added to the weight room, all of the larger men like myself could get a bit more out of the strength days when we're trying to push a little harder.
2. I really miss the coaches using the glass walls to promote and track the special events we all participate in. It was just so much more motivating to see what everyone was doing and even if I couldn't beat the badass from another class, it gave me something to shoot for.
It just felt like it was more fun when they were allowed to do that.
I look forward to going to OTF classes. The challenging workouts are fun and constantly changing so you don't get bored. I have been a member for almost three years and love OTF so much that I invited a friend to try it out. She now owns and operates her own OTF in Canada.
