i have used several other Orange gyms in both NYC and Miami area. They are not even close to our Henderson south gym. Instructors are so engaged here. Noting close to that back east from where I have been.
I am 5 days away from my first Orangeversary and this is the very first time that I stuck with a fitness program for so long. I find the workout to be very efficient, both in terms of caloric expenditure and of building strength (and cool looking muscles). On my first session, I could not even do a side plank, because I was too weak to lift my behind off the floor. The experience may be humbling in the beginning, but there is no judgement - you do what you can, for how long you can, as well as you can. There were sessions when I left early, barely breathing and feeling nauseated, but I bought myself a bag of ginger chews and kept coming back. One year later, I can (almost) do correct push-ups, I can actually do burpees and jumping jacks and froggers, I can use much heavier weights, I can see how my arms and legs are shaped differently and, in general, I feel I CAN do anything I set my mind to. Simply put, Orangetheory works, it's like a whole way of life that sneaks up on you and makes you healthier, fitter and happier. A big shout-out is owed to the coaches, especially to Chris, who takes each workout and each individual problem/injury seriously and who corrects form, which I find essential. I've always had workout-related injuries before, but I never had them while training here.
The work-outs are always different and continue to challenge your strength and endurance level. The fact that it only takes 1 hour out of your schedule to get an awesome workout. The reward is so worth the time you put in! I feel great and I like the results that I'm seeing! All of the staff and trainers are supportive and enthusiastic.
The variety between cardio and strength training, plus having a trainer telling me what to do. I can just walk in and start working out. Trainers are there to make corrections while doing exercises and to motivate me while on the treadmill and rower.
