Run to rows are always some of the best workouts, and it is appreciated when it is managed in a 3 group class! Tornado is also a great, FUN workout! I do wish there were more of both of these workouts.
The marathon is a great concept, but for those of us who go on a daily or even multiple days a week, the marathon is not a challenge. The ultra marathon is not a challenge either. 1.5 miles is doable on an average day and even on an ultra marathon, that is more than doable. I hope that a rowing-style "marathon"/challenge occurs, although I realize the challenges with completing a rowing challenge for those who often do 2 group classes.
My first time to any Orange Theory. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Trainer was awesome, workout was intense, but manageable...just what I was looking for. I was very happy with the experience and I will be back for more.
I travel a great deal, and have been in 8 different Orange Theory "cities" in the past two years. It is an incredible workout and all have been top notch facilities. But I would put our home studio, Paradise Valley, AZ - objectively - at the top of all the cities and studios I've visited. There are some (like Chicago Old Town) that are great. But what makes the PV location simply outstanding is the DEPTH of awesome coaches. Be it Kim or Chris or Kristen or Dan. Literally whoever is coaching at the PV studio, we've found them to be great coaches. So because my wife and I have to "jump around" to different days and time slots each week (because of my travel), we think the PV studio is a 10. (And I know everyone says they don't give "10's" - but I rarely do.
Everything! I like the variety, I like the instructor, I like how they give modifications, I like how I was treated when I stopped in to explore, I like how I was treated on my first workout - because I have balance and hearing challenges and the instructor worked around that by placing me at the end of the rowing machines so I could hear and offered stability workarounds for the free weight area.
What is not to like?
I LOVE it!
L. [LAST NAME REMOVED] - Scottsdale, AZ - working out at the Paradise Valley location! Love Chris...
The workouts are fun and the coaches really push you to achieve your best. I always walk out feeling so good about my workout and that I achieved it that day. There are times when they tell us what we are going to do I think, I can't do that but I try and then I surprise myself because I can do it and I did do it!!! I also love that the workouts are NEVER the same ALWAYS different and fantastic. Love orange theory.
