I had a great time! I loved having the heart rate monitor to show my progress. I am hesitant about buying one though because I feel like it is a huge purchase for just one item when the class price is already so high.
I have been to a bunch of different Orange Theory centers across the US and the location in Central Phoenix and Camelback are by the far the best. A lot comes down to the trainers and Marshall, Kristi and Alan are the best three I have had. Marshall is one of the only trainers that I have had that has corrected my form. I assume most hadn't because I wasn't in danger of hurting myself but he provided nuanced direction to get the most out of the exercise. I really appreciated that.
Also, no one at either studio is too into dubstep. There was (is?) a trainer at the McCormick Ranch location that would constantly pack his entire work out with angry dub step and that was the worst. The occasional dubstep interlude is fine but 45 minutes of drops and screeches is too much. It becomes a different kind of mental exercise where you're now learning to remain focused in spite of the music.
On the flip side, every workout should include Outkast's "B.O.B." Like three times a class.
It isn't boring. It is fast paced and interesting. It is too much for me at my age. I think it is wonderful for younger people. It inspired me to pay more attention to a routine of exercise
which I will do at home .. swim, bike, weights and yard maintenance, with more concentration.
Thank you, Jenny, Jessica and Natalie.
Everyone is so friendly and encouraging. The front staff ensures monitors are all set for the workout. The awesome instructors monitor form in the weight room and high 5s after a tough session. I reserved this feedback to see if I lasted to the 10th workout. My endurance and strength has skyrocketed! Thanks Mike for helping me to see 10.
