I've been a member of Orangetheory Fitness for over a year, and I absolutely love everything about it! The workouts are consistently awesome and always changing to challenge every member, regardless of how many workouts they've done. This variety keeps things interesting and helps me stay motivated.
The coaches are fantastic—they’re not only great at what they do but also incredibly motivating. They push you to reach new levels of fitness that you might not have thought possible. Their support makes a huge difference in my workout experience.
One of the things I really appreciate is how clean the equipment and studio are, including the bathrooms. No matter the season, day, or time, the facilities are always spotless, which is really important to me.
Lastly, the community and camaraderie among the members are amazing. The supportive environment helps me push myself harder and stay committed to my fitness goals. The combination of dynamic workouts, motivating coaches, clean facilities, and a supportive community makes OTF an exceptional place to pursue my fitness journey.
Push yourself and others will follow!!
There are several things I like about a Orangetheory workout. They include:
-the workout is it is complete workout is 60 minutes;.
-the class has three components- thread, rowing, and weights;
-the coach guides the class through each element, offering guidance on how to complete the exercise correctly, offering alternatives to the exercises to accommodate individual needs, and reminding individuals to complete the exercises at their own pace; and
-wearing a heart monitor to track heart rate, calories burned, and steps.
I really enjoyed being able to go at my own pace but in a group setting (which pushes me to not give up and go a little harder than I would probably normally do).
The coaches are great. They know how to motivate you.
The reason I'm not providing a score of 10 is that the flexibility block (stretches that we do at the end of the work out) is very overlooked by the coaches. Sometimes we skip some stretches. Most of the time, we don't stretch for the full time that's dedicated for stretching. Stretching is so important as it can affect how we feel the next couple days following the workout. I would recommend the coaches take this block more seriously.
I had a suggestion.....As I've lately been really working towards increasing my strength, and attempting to increase the weights I'm using, I can't be the only person who finds it extremely challenging to go up five pounds at a time. Obviously space is a big consideration so getting 17-ish and 22-ish lb dumbbells is probably not a possibility. But, what about small 1-2 lb accessory discs to add to the existing dumbbells? That way individuals could gradually work their way up to the higher weights. Just a thought!
I have been consistently doing 5-6 workouts at Orange Theory Royal Oak (Downtown) since May 2023 and absolutely love it. The coaches are awesome, the staff is fun and everyone is there for a common goal...their OWN person fitness journey!! I never was a morning person, but now I can't imagine starting my week days without a 4:55AM workout! So far I gained several pounds of muscle and lost over 5% body fat. In addition to the excellent people at OT, the technology that tracks person heart rate ranges is super helpful to use in accomplishing goals.
Everyone who works and works out at this location is always so incredibly nice! I’m new to the area and feel like I have found such a welcoming community at OTF Royal Oak!
I have taken one class thus far at Orange theory. The class is what I was looking for to add to my fitness routine. The staff were very welcoming and helpful during my first class.
