All I have to do is show up, the coaches do all the work of figuring out what to do. Even if I have a "slow day", I know if I just show up, I"ll still get a better workout than anything I could do on my own. I've also gotten a lot stronger over the past 1.5 years I've been with Orange Theory.
The variety of exercises, short but intense, the idea that there's no time to chat with your neighbor, which happens at a regular gym and you end up spending 90 minutes there when one intense hour, in and out, is perfect.
The only slightly negative comment is about the heart rate monitors. I've come to rely on it a great deal - just to know where I'm at in my workout - and I'm in the gray at times when I'm kicking it hard, and I know it's not accurate, so that part can be mentally challenging.
Otherwise I love Orange Theory. Also, I switched from Mayo to Shea because the girls at the front desk at Shea are so friendly and helpful, and that makes a big difference in feeling comfortable - your customer service is great! Especially Lindsay
The OT staff eagerly facilitated my trial experience and the trainer (Colton) was awesome, ensuring I understood the program and knew how to use the machinery. The constant monitoring/feedback was really cool..
There are specific instructors--Mario, Colton and Jeremy. The fact that they know our names and different motivations is critical. Some of the other instructors do not get to know the members. Colton and Mario are the best.
