Our daughter loves going to daycare here! Ms. Jada and Ms. Abbey are the absolute best and they have helped our girl grow so much with her language development, fine-motor skills, and practicing appropriate social skills.
I’ve only played pickle ball so far so that is all I can weigh in about. I think it is well run and casual.
It sounds like the sign-up system can be tweaked a little bit with people on the waiting list and notifying them sooner if availability becomes open?
At this point all at this point, this is all I can weigh in on..
I love the OLYMCA, and we moved to the neighborhood partially for the proximity to the Y. Unfortunately, I end up going to the Airport Rd Y more often because I like classes and there are not enough of them at OLY. Maybe if the Barre/Pilates Studio was upstairs somewhere and not hidden away? The OLY is perfect for kids playing sports on weekends or for daycare, but it has turned into my “backup plan Y” and I, unfortunately, end up driving to Airport Rd more frequently than I hoped to.
Btw…nice job adding to the exercise room (mats, weights, etc.). I would love to have an oblique machine if Santa is asking. :)
Thank you for the hard work you all do for the community…..I just wish the “in-town Y” was as big of a part of the community as it feels like the larger Y has become. I hope my little Y finds it’s special thing (in addition to the daycare that I think it is primarily thought of to be).
Thanks for asking our thoughts.
It’s great to have a YMCA employee coach for my son’s team. I love to see the familiar faces as referees, who are supportive and kindly help the kids learn the rules of basketball.
The Jr. NBA league is well run and well resourced. Our son has had a great time playing and the structure and amount of time offered to the program (one practice a week, at least one game) is great for getting him to continue to focus and get excited.
The staff are great with the kids during games, helping them to understand and learn even as they are playing
In comparison to some other youth leagues -Jr. NBA provides the kids with a full sport experience in my opinion. Having the clock, scorekeeper, and refs on hand are great great resources. The gym is always in great shape and the schedule is maintained very well. Kudos to the staff and all the coach/volunteers.
