Swimming pool is great, and also teachers. I wish the family locker rooms are also connected to the swimming pool, but it would require heavy remodeling, so I’m ok.
Due to spinal issues, I enjoy utilizing the jacuzzi and swim area. Also, the staff are all very caring and engaging. They are a credit to the organization. I am allowed to bring my small service dog into the facility. Where even he utilizes the treadmill with me. This has lead to a 15lb reduction in my weight and Cody my dog has also lost 5lbs. My primary care physician is very pleased with my progress. It has lead to perfect blood pressure reading and joint pain alleviation.
I’ve been a member at the Palo Alto Family YMCA for a while now, and it’s a great place to stay active. There are several things that make this gym stand out:
Upgraded Equipment: I’m really happy to see the new equipment they’ve recently brought in. It’s a huge improvement and makes the workouts much more effective.
Top-Tier Cleanliness: This is consistently one of the cleanest gyms I’ve been to. The staff does a fantastic job maintaining the space.
Wonderful Staff: The team here is incredibly nice and welcoming. It makes for a very positive atmosphere every time I walk in.
One Suggestion:
The only thing that would make this place perfect is if they stayed open a bit later. Closing at 9:00 PM can be a bit early for those with busy schedules. Extending the hours even by an hour or two would be a great benefit for the community!
Overall, it’s a fantastic, community-focused gym that keeps getting better.
Great fellow members - a real community. Excellent staff of trainers, such as Yaser and Juana. Recent additions of new equipment. Larry's strength and balanced class is standing room
only - about 90 people on Tuesday's and Thursdays. Lobby staff need to work on their 'charm'. Ralph needs to call people by name.
There is so much I LOVE about this facility:
1) Lots of parking
2) Friendly/helpful desk staff
3) An abundance of classes to take/try out
4) E-Gym circuit is great for incorporating/tracking strength training
5) The treadmills have lots of app options for making cardio entertaining/informative
6) Sr. Fitness Class with Larry on Tuesdays and Thursdays are awesome.
