If you remember the old Cheers TV show (I know, I'm showing my age), Planet Fitness in Griffin Georgia is the Cheers of Gyms. You walk in the door "where everybody knows your name and their all glad you came". I had taken several months off working out due to an injury and finally yesterday, my wife and I started back to our Planet Fitness Gym. We walked in to a staff who remembered us, welcomed us, and called us by name, even before we scanned in. Planet Fitness in Griffin, is more than just a Gym. Gyms have been a huge part of my life, at 18 I was part of a team opening one of the largest (other name brand gyms) in the world. At that time, our philosophy was to cater to meatheads, fitness models, and we didn't really spend time helping others learn how to get in shape. I've been a part of many other types of gyms but NONE like Planet Fitness and I definitely would never have let my wife and daughters go to any of my former gyms. When my family became interested in fitness, I took them to Planet Fitness in Griffin, we toured the facility, I realized then, that I could get an incredible workout and the atmosphere was one that I felt safe for my wife and daughters to workout in as well. WELL MANAGED..... Although fitness is a huge part of my life, I've been a firefighter for 26 years (16years of that as leader in our organization and teaching leadership courses). I know a thing or 2 about good management and bad management. Under a bad manager, employees cycle through like a revolving door, under good management, employees stay, grow, and learn. The long term employees are the key to success, the industrial knowledge of long term employees is the lifeblood of a good running organization. Planet Fitness in Griffin Georgia is very well managed! I've seen the same employees for years, each employee is thriving, they all have legitimate smiles on their faces, and seem to fully enjoy their work environment and they keep the gym well maintained. The staff alone, was enough to prove to me that this was a good gym for my family. And finally, TOP TEIR Equipment.... Precor, Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, and Matrix, plenty of dumbbells', plenty of benches, and a TON of machines. You can work out every muscle group multiple ways. Also, there an incredible amount of aerobic machines such as Treadmills, Stairmasters, Seated Row Machines, and Ellipticals. I don't want to leave out the classes being taught daily to all types of fitness levels. My wife and I are in our mid 40s and we are HUGE fans of finishing our workouts then heading to their hydro lounges/massage chairs. I know this was a lot of information, but I wanted to paint the whole picture of how great our gym is. Jon and Melissa Baker

1st - the staff is outstanding! They are always friendly and attentive. Keep hiring these people! 2nd - the gym is super clean! Love it! The only negative is the bathrooms. The toilets don't always flush as they should, the sink in the handicap stall is inoperative, and it is just generally not as clean as the rest of the facility. Other than the bathroom, keep up the great work!

everyone is so nice at my location, always willing to help!! I do just have one complaint and it is nothing towards the employees the tanning beds all need to be updated! and the bulbs need to be changed regularly, but the staff is amazing!!

Clean and well-kept facility. The manager has a great personality when talking to everyone. It's a warm and inviting place to stay healthy. The quality of engaging and greeting each customer is key. Even wishing that they have a great day when leaving. To some, this comes naturally others not so much. Griffin Planet Fitness has this down pat.
