I have been to the "others" and over time the level of service has not been as advertised. Off the Cuff my comments would be:
**Having a name implying "24hr" service but not providing that service
**Equipment and site repairs that do not seem to be handled in an appropriate time
**Dirty/sweaty equipment
**Non inclusivity
** No supervision of "bros" circuit training, recording on the floor or monopolizing equipment
**No supervision of maintenance staff. I do recall trying to walk in a changing room completely flooded in an inch of foamy cleaning agent because cleaners were deep cleaning floors during business. UNSAFE!
** Interacting with staff who performed like they just did not care, much less care about my concerns
This was not the case with Planet Fitness. The Ximeno Long Beach location receives a 10 from me for having an ALWAYS clean facility, new equipment, repairs that are done quickly, and mostly for the staff members I have had the pleasure to interact with.
Just last week I had an incident in the change room with self centered members taking mirror pictures with my exposed self captured in the mirror shot. I brought this up to a staff member who responded with concern matching mine and addressed the issue IMMEDIATELY with the parties. His response was what I would expect from "family" not gym staff. He deserves a 15. Wish I knew his name!
For these reasons I have found my home at Planet Fitness.

For the affordable monthly fee, the Planet Fitness in Long Beach is exactly the workout experience that I want and expect. I don't need/want the swimming pool or saunas or other stuff. I just want to come in, get my exercise and go. The facility is clean and well-maintained. The staff is always friendly, saying "Welcome, have a good workout" and "Have a good day" most every time. The equipment is well-maintained and in the several years that I've been going to this location, I've only seen an "Out of Order"-type sign on equipment maybe a couple of times. There is a good size section of the room dedicated to free weights.The whole "no judgement" ethos is nice too.

The staff has always been kind supportive and helpful. It is conveniently located. I have never not had access to any of the workout equipment. The temperature is always just right. I love the way the TV monitors are set up. The bathroom and shower areas are always well cleaned. It is a great atmosphere. I have never had any complications or any reason to file a complaint. I have never had a confrontation with anyone at any time at this facility.
I would recommend this particular facility to anyone.
I absolutely love this workout facility.

The staff is great.
WHAT I DO NOT LIKE
The aqua beds smell of mildew. I was told the equipment was being replaced, WHEN IS THAT GOING TO HAPPEN? THE MASSAGE CHAIRS ARE NOT WORKING! Also the chest fly machine, you need more of them. People do one set on a machine and sit for 20 minutes on the phone between sets, its not fair. This phone issue is a huge problem as I can never get my workout done as I am waiting for a machine all the time. Phones on the floor should not be allowed. The phone issue where people sit 20 minutes, this is for all the machines in the whole gym.
