I am writing to give a commendation to Brittany Bennet, the manager of the Fresh Meadows location.
Recently, I reached out to Brittany regarding a concern, and she helped me out with patience, understanding, and professionalism. I’ve seen her interact similarly with other guests, always greeting everyone with a big smile.
Brittany’s proactive and is usually walking rounds and making sure that the gym is clean and well run. She’s a great manager!
So far the experience has gone well. The one issue I had was on Saturday I believe the 14th. Being new i had learned the hours of the place and arrived at 6:40 pm. When I signed in the young man did not tell me "closing in 20 minutes." He actually helped me so we did say hello and he did use the machine to sign me in. I then went downstairs to begin using the 30 min circuit. There were a number of people there including a lady cleaning the area. At no time did anyone come around or make an announcement that they were closing. Once finished I went upstairs to begin using the bike (I had knee replacement surgery so this is the last thing I do each time). I went on the bike for 10 minutes and was amazed that there was no one upstairs on a Saturday night. Again, at no time did I see anyone upstairs or an announcement made. I proceeded to use a machine that is usually never available and thought let me check what time they close. I saw the closing time was 7 pm and it was 7:33 pm when I checked. I panicked and went down in the el evator and saw no one. I went to check the doors and saw they were all locked. I opened one and another young man with a PF shirt on expressed to me that they were closed. I was on the inside and he was outside. I then realized that i left my keys in the locker and went back upstairs. By now its almost 8 pm and when in elevator I can hear the alarm going off. i apologized to the kid and left. he handled the alarm. Just thought I would be given some warning and staff walking around. This was uncalled for. On Monday I spoke to the manager and explained what happened.
Friendly and hospitable staff; clean and reliable equipment. Would limit the amount of high school students who get free access (limit when they can go, especially if during peak times for paid members)
