It's always welcoming.. high energy with a positive atmosphere. Super helpful from staff and other members on explaining different new machines I didn't know how to use. Fantastic staff. Thank you
Being homeless in San Diego is tough, but planet fitness offers an amazing and safe space to take care of myself and stay sane. Despite my appearances the staff is friendly and the other gym goers are welcoming
I do recommend planet fitness at university Avenue they open on time… beautiful environment….very polite people at the counter……and clean…..recently posted a comment….. about planet fitness but I thought it was for the one in Euclid av….. lately it’s been open late….
The Rolando club is always clean and 9/10 fully stocked with cleaning spray and paper towels. It is rare when a machine is out of service. The attendants are very friendly and helpful as well. The bathrooms/locker rooms are also always clean and fully stocked with soap and toilet paper, etc. Members in the area are typically respectful enough to clean up after themselves and take care of equipment. It is uncommon for anyone to hog a machine for too long. And finally, I really like how well they take care of the massage and hydro massage chairs.
The front desk people are very friendly. I've visited multiple locations and I'd say the workers here are above average in terms of helpfulness compared to the other locations I've visited. Across the board, about the only issues I've had with the gym are that I like the locations that just have regular lock loops where you can use your own lock. It'd be nice to have a combination of both so those without locks can use the combinations and those with them can forgo it. The showers could also use some improvement. There is no place inside the showers to set things for the most part in any location. I often have to put things like shampoo, conditioner, soap and body wash in a bag and keep going in and out of the shower to get them. Sometimes there are hooks to hook the bag (outside the shower)...this makes it a little bit easier, but you still have to keep going in and out. Even a hook inside the shower would be great. Often times there are no hooks (in other locations) or the hooks were there but are now missing. For this particular home location that I go to, the hours are strange. Closing is at 7pm. I joined because it's a great benefit for me to use gyms in other locations, but this one in particular is pretty far out from the main "center" of the actual city...where most people are...and there isn't another one unless you travel very far north. There should be one closer to the population center, somewhere in the middle of the two that are here. This area probably could easily support 2 more. Other locations in much smaller towns I went to were either 24/7 or closed much later. Overall, I haven't really encountered problems aside from what I pointed out. I converted from 24 Hour Fitness to use the multi-location benefit, they don't have many on my cross country travel route and there is also one in my final destination, so I'll likely end up staying a member (I'm relocating from San Diego, CA to Venice, FL)...I'm also an adventurer, so being out on the road and being able to easily find a location or plan trips around being able to stop in is a tremendous benefit for me. I was at first not sure I would like that there was no hot tub as 24 Hour Fitness has or the YMCA has, but I've grown to really appreciate the massage chairs and hydro massage. They are very great for a weary traveller!
Very clean place. Usually not too crowded, but the new students are coming in this week, so get ready. Staff is friendly and helpful, but somewhat inexperienced (or maybe I talked to the wrong person). I was asking for some lifting advice... didn't get what I needed.
