I joined Planet Fitness after having knee replacement surgery two years ago. It is very close to my home so it was the perfect choice. I met Julie, the manager when I went to check out the location and signed up within a few days. At first I was a bit uncomfortable because I was unfamiliar with the equipment and hadn't worked out for several years. However, at that time, the trainer that was available, Sam, helped me to understand the equipment and showed me how to use what I needed to build up my leg strength to promote healing of the replaced knee and hopefully prevent having to replace the other knee. I now try to get to PF at least two or three times a week. My only concern is that lately, I notice several pieces of equipment are out of order and have been that way for more than a month. I do hope that is not a sign that my local PF is going downhill. I also want to suggest that my PF needs more leg press machines. There are only three and it is not unusual to have to wait in order to get to that piece of equipment. Some people have a habit of texting or talking on the phone in between reps. Just this week I actually had to ask someone if I could please use the machine while he was on the phone.
It is the greatest gym. Plenty of machines and a very peaceful atmosphere. People do need to stay off their phones when others want to use the machine they’re on
Julie is always ready to address my issues and immediately contacted the the building people to fix the potholes in the entrance of the parking lot she always is mindful of all my concerns she's terrific.
I love the staff and Stamford location. However, there are not enough massage chairs and massage beds. I’ve been to many PF locations and the Stamford location is quite busy and often the chairs and beds are not available. Many other less busy locations have more beds and chairs.
