I have been going to PF for 5 yrs. I moved from North Jersey to Toms River and transferred my membership to Toms River on Fisher Blvd. Love this gym very clean and the equipment is spaced out nicely. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
I LOVED the location so much I transferred my membership, BUT it is ONLY BECAUSE CORPORATE in its infinite wisdom thought removing and changing machines in the FLAGSHIP location in Brick on Hooper Ave, which I LOVED, was making that location better. Be VERY CLEAR, adding dead lifting free weights and removing the 30 minute workout room, removing the HAMMER Machines, and then coming in and putting the NEW machines spread out throughout the location instead of keeping like machines together has caused me to look elsewhere. CORPORATE is very lucky they have all the GOOD machines people want at their Toms River location, or I would have been looking for a DIFFERENT gym. You removed the 30-minute workout area, which was not only used by many, especially the women, it was used by everyone else as a backup if the machines on the main floor were all taken. Taking and moving like machines far apart from one another only causes someone to have to walk back and forth in the gym trying to get on a machine and guess what happens, As you are wlking towards the machine as someone is getting off someone close by gets on it, then you walk across the gym to try and get on the same machine on the other side of the gym and the same thing happens. If the 2 machines were next to each other you could wait nearby and once 1 person gets off, you can get on. Really foolish layout in the set-up at the BRICK flagship location on Hooper Ave. I can ONLY think that an engineer who sits at a desk and NEVER goes to a GYM is the person who created this NEW floor plan at that Brick location. Well, I am very happy that I moved my membership to Toms River as the gym there is clean, MUCH less crowded, and it has ALL of the machines the Brick location had prior to the reset. The only issue is that I have to drive 15-20 minutes instead of 7-9 minutes to and from the gym now.
