It has an overall friendly atmosphere where even as an older woman walking on the treadmill next to a 20 something athlete who's running, I feel welcomed and safe and not judged.
I'm fortunate to live near a 24-hour Planet Fitness and a brand new Planet Fitness with new equipment. Both gyms provide a great environment for me to achieve my fitness goals. Taking full advantage of my black card, recovery in the "spa" area provides me a moment to reflect on the goals and meditate. Crowd Meter on the app makes it all accessible.
It’s newer, it’s so clean, it’s not crowded like the Oxnard one. The SINKS ALL WORK in the bathroom, locker room is big and so nice. I’m not forced to leave my gym in a locker or in my car. Layout is much better! 10/10
Great amenities, although the massage chairs are broken, this is the best part of the spa area, so I hope they are fixed soon. Also anytime I have used the stand up beds, the floor where your feet go is always dirty, and needs to be cleaned often it seems. Also would love if there was a key chain bar code pass for members to swipe.
I’ve exercised at numerous gyms here in Ventura county, Calif. I would rate Planet Fitness, at the top as to its exercise equipment, maintenance and staffing. The only concern I have is that recently all of the men’s showers, with the exception of the handicap shower, have begun to have a lack of water pressure. Due to the lack of water pressure it takes twice as long to shower. If this was an attempt to save water it fails.
Or is it a build up of calcium I’m the shower heads from hard water?
Love the Black Spa. And that equipment was available. Always clean.
A little nervous how crowded it gets in summer with the addition of a lot of youth members.
