My wife and I take Therapeutic Yoga with Linda Troutman on Wednesday afternoon. She is fabulous, Good instruction on poses, walks around the class to support and encourage students, and takes the time to understand each persons issues so she can tailor the class to suit the students concerns.
I highly recommended her class
Karin's class was amazing. It was the first exercise that I have done in probably a year and I have been so stiff and sluggish. The change in my flexibility after this 75 min class was remarkable. I have a long way to go but the gentle stretching challenged me in just the right way. I can't wait to come back next week and hope that I can do at least a little at home.
Also, Karin has such an endearing quality about her. She is caring and compassionate and she brings laughter into the healing properties of yoga. I felt completely at ease. Thank you!
Classes are interesting and challenging, yet modified to be accessible for every body. I like that there is no music as I find that distracting, I also like that the classes are not "flow" classes and those seem to be the only classes available at studios near me. Everyone is flopping around with little direction. One studio owner told me "that's what people like so that's what we provide". How would he know when he's never offered anything else? With what I have learned at Prairie Yoga, I feel a lot of studios are missing out on helping students tune into their bodies - understanding how we move and why we move that way. I've discovered a depth of practice at Prairie that I did not know existed and I love it.
