When it's a good location, the staff feels like family—warm, attentive, and genuinely invested. Many say their kids run in excited and come home happy, with daily updates via apps (photos, notes) that give peace of mind. Clean facility, secure entry, fun activities, and a focus on character development (like community service and kindness) get a lot of praise. It's often described as feeling like a "home away from home."

We are incredibly happy with our experience here and cannot recommend this center highly enough. Ellen is absolutely fantastic; she runs a tight ship operationally while making it clear how deeply she cares for both the students and her team. Her strong leadership creates a positive environment that is reflected in the top-notch staff she hires and retains. Every teacher we have interacted with has been professional, attentive, and genuinely kind to our children. It gives us immense peace of mind to drop our kids off knowing they are safe, happy, and in excellent hands. We are so grateful to be part of a community that balances high standards with such a loving atmosphere.

It wasn't until my oldest graduated from Primrose to attend Kindergarten that the full weight of how far we’ve come hit me. When people say that the greatest gift in parenthood is having a village, they’re absolutely right. From the moment our oldest joined Primrose at just 18 months old, Primrose School of South Elgin became part of our village, helping to nurture and guide him. One of the best decisions we made in 2021 was to enroll our oldest in Primrose.
Back then, my heart was filled with more worries than I could count: would he start talking in full phrases, make friends, and learn to be independent? Each year, those worries persisted, along with new ones, but all of Primrose were always there with reassurance, letting me know that he was on the right path and that everything would be okay. Now, after his last day at Primrose, meeting his new Kindergarten teacher, and confidently getting on that bus without looking back, I could not help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude.
We currently have our youngest there, and we could not be more grateful for Primrose being an integral part of our kids' childhoods. They have developed their academic and social skills and reinforced our family values. Our three-year-old impresses us every day by tracing his full name with a marker and becoming increasingly independent. Our oldest gained so much confidence in making new friends and learning new skills. I am forever grateful that we chose Primrose to be part of our village.

We love the family feel of Primrose, the events/activities and extra effort to make things feel special, and the structured activities/centers in the classrooms! We just wish there were more photos shared on the app throughout the day to feel like we’re a part of all the fun our son says he has every day :)

The whole staff knows my daughter, not just her everyday teachers - and they all deeply care for her. Even though she’s only 2, she is treated with respect and listened to. Her teachers give us regular updates on progress, academic and social development - and we are seeing this at home as well. Compared to other daycares we had tried in the past, Primrose stands head and shoulders above them.
