It has very good ambience, lots of equipment and very spacious gym. You be able to find any equipment at anytime. Both coaches & front desk staff is very polite & courteous.
Most of the equipment is satisfactory to my needs however, if you really want a useful suggestion, I've noticed that the 20 lb dumbells (2 pair) are one of the most used pieces of equipment and often, there are none available. Another 2 sets could alleviate this shortage.
For the past three years, Retro Fitness in East Windsor has become more than just a gym for me – it's a source of joy, empowerment, and genuine connection. My journey began with a class I never imagined I could embrace: VXN, led by the incredible Helene. At 57, stepping into that class felt intimidating, but Helene's uplifting energy, patient instruction, and unwavering encouragement completely transformed my perspective. Now, I look forward to every class!
What's truly remarkable about Helene's VXN class is the diverse community it has fostered. We are a vibrant mix of ages and fitness levels, united by a shared love for dance, fun, and a commitment to our health. Judgments are left at the door; instead, we cheer each other on, celebrate small victories, and have built genuine friendships that extend beyond the gym walls. This camaraderie is a testament to the welcoming spirit of Retro Fitness.
Beyond the exceptional classes, the staff at Retro Fitness are consistently friendly and genuinely helpful. Management deserves particular praise for their attentiveness. They truly listen to member feedback and address any concerns with efficiency and discretion, creating a sense of trust and respect. I always feel safe and comfortable within the gym environment, knowing that their priority is the well-being of every member.
The cleanliness of the facility is also a significant improvement under the current management. It's noticeable how proactive the staff are in maintaining a tidy space, consistently cleaning equipment and gently reminding members to rerack weights. This attention to detail makes a real difference in the overall gym experience.
If you're looking for a fitness center that offers more than just machines, I wholeheartedly recommend Retro Fitness in East Windsor. You'll be welcomed into a supportive community, have access to a diverse range of classes led by passionate instructors like Helene, and be supported by a dedicated and responsive team. It's a place where you can genuinely enjoy your fitness journey, no matter your age or starting point.
I a generally pleased with my experience at Retro Fitness. I started doing cardio as a response to a heart attack at age 75. It's been almost a year since my incident but I fell better than I have in years. The facility is generally clean and at least in the early morning hours when I go it is relatively easy to get to any piece of equipment.
It is not a complaint, just an observation, the only thing I find annoying are members who sit on a piece of equipment and scroll through their phones. I leave my phone home.
