The gym is never too crowded, you can get in and out of the gym with barely any interruptions in your workout. Members all generally get along. The gym could use a bit of better AC.
I enjoy being a member at Park Slope RetroFitness. The membership fees are reasonable and it is conveniently located. I appreciate the parking lot. The equipment could use some upgrading and I wish this location had a hip thrust machine, which is widely available at other locations/gym chains. Otherwise, this gym suits my needs.
I love it there. It has its problems but all gyms do. They need to turn on the air conditioners. It is going to lose membership if they do not cool the place off.
I was a member in the past, got frustrated because the gym had difficulty finding employees that could show up @ 5:00am. We cancelled our membership and joined planet fitness and hated it. We re-signed a new membership unfortunately with the new contract prices.
What I dislike is that the gym can be cleaner. When you’re running on the treadmill on the 2nd floor you can see all the dirty, dusty vents. Also the rug should be much cleaner…… other than that, staff is friendly and I love my crowd @ 5:00am.
Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and your members are great! Machines are fixed relatively fast most of the time. Also not sure if something is wrong with the A/C currently but now that it’s been getting hot out, the gym is usually way too hot. Keep up the good work retro of park slope!
