I love the weight machines...good for people my age. I like that you have some classes, though they aren't as interesting as they used to be. What happened to Saturday morning bellydance class, for example?
I like being able to create my own work out routine. I appreciate the cleanliness of the facility. I enjoy using the indoor track for my walking and the diverse weight machines.
I appreciated the make-up class when our instructor was ill. The kids seem to enjoy the lesson, and we're seeing improvement (albeit slow improvement). I'd love to see more options for private or semi-private lessons.
I enjoy the eGYM and the aquatics area. The eGYM makes it easy for me to get in a complete workout without waiting for equipment or second guess my weights or reps. The aquatics area is clean and well supervised so I feel my kids are safe in this area.
I primarily use the wet area for swimming laps and for the excellent jacuzzi jets in the hot tub, as well as the steam and sauna rooms. My decades-old back injury responds well to water therapy. Swimming exercises the body's whole musculature while suspending one out of gravity's crush. Also the Reuter Y has the strongest massaging jacuzzi jets of the many different Y's I have visited in Austin TX and Madison WI where my children and grandchildren live. My only request would be to change the chlorine disinfectant to salt, as the midtown Austin TX Y has done. It is more forgiving to the skin.
Lily was fantastic with the kids! She was patient and in control. The kids were comfortable with her quickly and that helped them really succeed with swimming skills.
Love the aqua classes on Monday! They ate so popular. Wish there were more classes where instructor teaches the class out of the water. Would love 10:00 classes on Wednesday and Friday.
