I have been going to the Richardson Y since 2010 when I retired. I love the people that work there, they have been there for a long time. I also really like the exercise classes. The people that go to the way are also extra nice people. I would recommend it to anyone.
I like the group exercise classes. I also like being able to use the exercise equipment when working out solo. The Y feels like family. The people are very friendly and welcoming.
I really appreciate the YMCA appointed coach Luckey who took on a bunch of 5th and 6th grade boys that were new to football. He gave them fair opportunities to try all different positions. He was encouraging and helped them gain confidence through the season. Thankful for leaders like Coach Lucky who are developing the next generation.
I benefit from the Senior Low Impact Exercise class and the Chair Yoga. These help seniors with strengthening, stretching, balancing, and cardiovascular exercise. I'm more likely to exercise regularly if I have a scheduled time, and I'm doing it with other people. When I don't show up, people say, "Are you Okay? We missed you." The holiday potlucks give everyone a sense of community, and the special lunch programs such as how to avoid being scammed are very informative and helpful. Additionally, I have access to all of the exercise machines and equipment.
