It's a good, very family-oriented gym. The only problem is that you or they took away our Body Attack class on Saturdays early. Aya was one of the best trainers. She's certified for many different classes. I've seen her at Golds Gym, NBTx, and Crunch 78 SA, Tx. You let her go, and she was a hard worker, responsible, and took care of everyone. We need a class very early on Saturdays, 7:15 am, for example( like Hit class 7:15 am will be perfect )I like the Bodypump class on Mondays and Wednesdays, but it's always the same. She need to change the choreography more often because when they do the new class, they only do it for two weeks and then they go back to the same thing, and it's boring. The Tuesday and Thursday class has more variety, but it's at 6:15 am, which is late for those of us who work early. Melisa from Y Fit works well also the lady in Monday with Y Fit
Lizzie was an amazing instructor. Our child was really hesitant about putting her face in the water and taking the steps to really start to learn how to swim. Lizzie was patient and kind and did a great job at supporting her and eventually she not only put her face in the water but was excited about swim class. Highly recommend.
The programs and activities offered are nice. A little pricey though. I personally want to shout out to Mya, whom is a personal trainer here! She has a beautiful spirit and presence about her. She is always smiling and engaging with the gym members and is a fabulous Bi-lingual instructor! Give her a raise and promotion she deserves one!
Both our kids are playing soccer there and the experience has been wonderful. The communication from this YMCA has been top-notch. Fields are well-maintained. Volunteer coaches and YMCA staff have been positive and professional. We'll absolutely be back for the spring.
I only toured the facility and tried the aqua center. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Also it was clean and had variety of options for the whole family.
So far everything seems great! I am in adult volleyball and the refs are great and competition is decent. Better than what I expected. But I might have just gotten lucky.
My daughter is in swim at Schertz and so far the coaches are great. I would like to see them be a little more assertive with the local swimmers around them as they get in the way of our little ones who are in the classes. I would only assume that we have priority In the pool. It seems like Most of the coaches are timid to ask them to move and to give us some space while they are conducting their lessons.
My son is in baseball at Schertz, and so far it’s decent. And with this program I feeel there is a lot of fine tuning that needs to be done… I would like to see more coaches available. There are far too many kids against the ratio of coaches and the kids don’t know a lick of baseballl, so when it comes to game time- OUR kids are standing there not knowing what to do. Not knowing whether to run, can’t catch a grounder, nothing. Meanwhile the other kids on the other team have it together. I don’t expect our kids to be all stars but having more coaches or volunteer coaches will allow us to teach the concept of the game.
Perhaps if we can’t get more coaches don’t offer the sport. Just my opinion.
Pass this on to whoever you need to- I am here to answer whatever you need. Just here to provide transparency to help grow the program.
Oh and military discount would be awesome! At least off the family program for a yearly rate or something - then I know you’d get way more participation from us all.
