Staff is great. My son loves going to SOR. Feels like he has a connection with other kids that share his enthusiasm for music (something he doesn't get really as a 4th grader in elementary school where sports tends to dominate the after school activities.) Working in the performance band was such a thrill for him. He loved the collaboration of it all. You can't get that with other music programs.
I just love the personal connections and friends I’ve made here. School of Rock has helped me grow for 6 years not just as a musician, but also as a person. I spend at least 3 days a week there just because I love it and get so many opportunities.
I've provided positive feedback previously about the style of learning, the wonderful teachers, directors and administrators who truly care and enjoy teaching music. The performance program is fabulous in that the students get to show their talent several times a year in front of more than family and friends. I like that they get to dive right into a song but there is a method to the madness. I am excited about the new methodology and books and looking forward to even more in the future. I like that they are constantly improving and modernizing and not just doing the same ol' same ol...My daughter has been a student for 3+ years.
School of Rock was a great camp to break up the "daycamp" outdoors cycle, especially in July! My son had the opportunity to work on his guitar playing with others instead of alone at home. It provided a great creative outlet and socialization doing what he loves most...playing rock music!
I love the exposure the kids get to a variety of music genres, and the opportunities to perform on stage, at legitimate music venues. Our son is not very involved in high school, and can be a bit of an introvert, so School of Rock has been very good for his social development.
I love that my grandson is in such a great, creative environment with teachers who really seem to take an interest in his success and also listen to him. I love the feedback that usually occurs within an hour of class.
We have a senior in high school taking keyboard for the first time and a 5th grader taking voice as private lessons. Both are enjoying their teachers, experience, and atmosphere tremendously. The team at school of rock are passionate about music and the performance based approach. The option to be part of a band is very cool as well. Not something my quiet kids have chosen, but nice it's an option.
