Yes, my daughter enjoy the time in School of Rock. I like the rehearsal practice provided, it is much more interesting if you played and performed in a band. All the persons there are helpful, warm and friendly!
The Mary's! And the whole team, it's a good community. Some of the band teachers could be more inclusive/ aware around teen awkwardness but generally an amazing place.
I love how passionate the instructors are about music and their craft. My son smiles as soon as we pull in the SOR parking lot. He feels welcomed and happy to be there. Everyone is super friendly and truly make you feel like you are home.
Our children have had an amazing experience at SOR. Though honestly both were reluctant to take lessons, after taking their first lessons they were hooked, and it has been an amazing journey for both of them. One of my children was really inspired and continues to be inspired. He practices daily with no encouragement and now has a close group of friends from SOR. (We actually have to have a practice curfew.) He looks forward to every practice and rehearsal. My other child has grown in leaps and bounds in terms of his confidence. Though he is not as involved in SOR and is perfectly happy continuing with lessons (versus the many other opportunities at SOR), those lessons have given him the confidence to explore other interests!
School of Rock in Chapel Hill is a wonderful supportive environment where kids can develop their love of music and feel supported to gain confidence and performance skills.
What I love most about the School of Rock Chapel Hill program is the unwavering positive encouragement from the teachers. They not only teach music but also inspire confidence in each student's abilities. The opportunity to perform at iconic venues like Cat's Cradle adds a cool factor that motivates students to excel. Moreover, the program's diverse curriculum exposes kids to a wide range of musical genres, expanding their appreciation and understanding of music. What's truly special is the inclusive environment where all types of kids are welcomed and celebrated, fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance among the students.
I think the teachers and the community are incredible. Our 9yo sons loves to go to his class, and he feels very welcome and a part of a community from the moment he walks in the building.
Kids have fun learning the songs and performing. I have seen a lot of progress and confidence in my child as she's continued to participate in the group programs!
