My kids instructor, James, is the best! He’s fun, engaging and keeps them challenged. They really enjoy the performance shows. One improvement could be better communication/response from the front desk (scheduling, billing, show communication).
It is such a great experience to perform as a rock star on a stage in front of friends and family. The staff is very professional and experienced musicians
I tried sticking to learning the drums several times but wasn’t able to until I joined the adult band with weekly lessons at SOR. It’s my most fun two hours of the week!
I love the non-competitive encouragement that meets students where they are and lets them learn at their own pace. There’s no possibility of shame or failure; just opportunities to learn and challenges to be sought as the students are ready.
My kid has a lot more confidence in himself since starting. He has met so many new friends every season and it’s something we both look forward to during the week.
I love the concept. I’ve tried sticking to playing the drum several times in the past, but, with the motivation from the other players and adult band and the direction from the staff, I’m finally feeling like a drummer.
My kids’ really enjoy school of rock. They are both in middle school with challenging academics and lots going on, but they WANT to play their instruments. I like that they get a lesson and a rehearsal each week. It is a big time commitment as a family but my kids are getting a lot out of it.
It always amazes me how much the kids are able to learn every season and before each performance! We love the staff and instructors and how much our little rocker is learning!
We love that the kids are able to play with a band and perform it with the kind of production that the school puts out every season. Its easy to learn an instrument and play it alone but to play and perform with others takes it up another level .
