I really enjoy the performance based aspect. My instructor is really good and is able to guide me as a real beginner and get me progressing well. I can see the progress and it really is encouraging. I also enjoy the group rehearsals as they connect me with others. Private lessons only that I have taken elsewhere in the past have never been able to do that.
Since starting School of Rock our child has gained confidence in just about every area of her life. She’s made the best friendships, extending her social group. Her grades have gone up at school because she’s being pushed and encouraged through her musical studies. She loves her instructor, who is incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and her time spent during rehearsal always leaves her pumped up to achieve goals. It’s overall such a great program that we are considering enrolling her little sister also! We are so thankful for the staff and anyone else who makes it’s such a fun program for our family to be a part of!
Great instructors. Always supportive and constructive, and extremely talented.
The performances give you a goal. (I need to learn this by this date.)
Rehearsals are fun, meet new people and immediately form a bond with them, team members all with the same goal in mind.
It’s a bit expensive but it’s a pretty unique offering compared to private lessons, and the focus is on learning how to be in a band, where most of private lessons are how to be a player.
My tutor Sam is great. He is patient, encouraging and has been exactly what I needed as I learn to play my acoustic guitar. I also want to call out Grace who has been incredibly helpful to me in scheduling, answering questions and is the first face you see upon entering School of Rock. Simply a great team!
I like the combination of the private lesson and group rehearsal. Playing with others at a similar skill level to me is really encouraging and a great way to gage progress
Supportive and helpful staff that really want nothing more than to teach you to play the music you love and to perform on stage. I've had friends learn Death Metal guitar, myself Black Metal and music theory, and there always seems to be a tracher that can steer you in the right direction.
My grandchild loves it. She loves being in rock 101 and rehearsal on Saturdays. It makes her happy. She’s learned a lot since then and she’s very young. She’s not even 8 yet and I’d say she learned a lot. They’re very good there.
Definitely recommend && we are planning to rejoin the little wings course once my son has his cousins’ company with him in February/March of 2024. It was a fun month of music && we want to bring him back to enjoy a few consistent months of music to get used to the atmosphere.
There is an abundance of knowledge on tap at school of rock, pretty much any instrument can be learned and tried out in a performance/rehearsal setting. I also like the more casual vibe at SoR as opposed to a rigid academic setting. Ultimately SoR is very rock & roll and i'd definitely recommend it to friends and family wanting to meet other musicians while learning an instrument.
