My daughter is able to experience musical collaboration in a group setting; comes home from lessons/camp happy and motivated for more; and exercises her freedom of expression through music.
Great teachers with a TON of experience. My child feels welcome and has excelled in their musical acumen. I can’t say enough great things about Connor and Team.
The fact that the students have the option for vocal and other instruments during lessons. This helps them transition to playing and singing at the same time. Another perk is that the students get stage time in front of the public to showcase what they have learned. This can also help them get over stage fright later on.
My daughter started at School of rock in another state at age 5 and is now 14. We are beyond thrilled that she was able to continue throughout our military moves. She has had so many incredible experiences here in Haymarket that have allowed her to travel, build lasting relationships and pursue her passion for percussion. The school adds to a pre-existing love of music through lessons, theory, performance, and fun!
We've only experienced the "Rookie" program so far, but what a great concept! Children as young as 7 learning the basics of music theory through popular song, while being offered the opportunity to learn how to play different instruments every 4-6 weeks then, at the end of that time, bringing it all together with a mini performance for parents/gaurdians is genius. It gets children excited about learning music and gives them some autonomy. This is the breeding ground for confidence. And if you have confidence, you're more likely to be inspired to learn more and master a craft. The instructors at School of Rock Haymarket truly foster all of this.
I like that they are during the school year, because we vacation a lot in the summer months. I like the location (near my home). My son loves getting to know other musicians, and he enjoys having kids to play with weekly.
