We love everything about this place. The teachers, the students, Maria, and Teddi. My son has progressed so much since he started going here and the performance programs are amazing. My whole family wants to enrol their kids after seeing the performance last weekend. My son went from not wanting to perform in January,I kind of pushed him to try, To performing in May. He had so much fun that he wants to do more.
I love the atmosphere and dedication that Teddi and her staff put in to the school! It's a slippery slope trying to keep everyone happy at the same time but these folks put their hearts and souls into every single day !
School of Rock provides an awesome environment for our kids to be creative and learn an instrument. It teaches them how to work together in a group and to perform in front of an audience. The School is very well organized and the teachers and staff are extremely professional and amazing people.
I love that the program get the kids playing music right away. And the program makes the kids to play with other students equality and fast. The atmosphere is accepting and positive. And it is absolutely true that the program builds confidence for children and gets them out of there comfort zone.
I like the fun and friendly environment that all the staff bring into the building. I love how the private instructors know what they're talking about when it comes to how to play an instrument and how to show your presence up on a stage. I also love how most of the instructors actually have real life experience when it comes to actually performing with a band or has a solo. It help gives students a little bit of insight to how the music world really works.
My son and I both decided to take guitar lessons, he's 11 and I'm 47. Even though we're both beginners, the style of teaching is geared towards the learner, and at the pace we both need. The instructors and staff are amazing and friendly. They make you feel like you're part of a family, not just a student.
So far, I've enjoyed my vocal lessons as my coach has made me feel comfortable from day one. She knows where my insecurities lie and knows how to help me push past them in order to improve on my voice. She's been friendly, helpful, informative and encouraging throughout
We started with the Rock 101 program and now we're in the Performance. For the past 3 years, we've only grown to love Teddi and all the teachers we've had - Mario, Jim, and Ian - even more. They're the best and without them this program just wouldn't be the same. We've already recommended the school to lots of friends.
The only constructive criticism I can provide is that the performance practice sessions could take more advantage of the time the student have. For example, if your songs aren't in the beginning of the practice that they wait in a room where they can practice or do something more constructive than sit around... I do tell my son to practice during those times but unfortunately he spends the time just hanging ...
I like the kind relationships that are formed between the teacher and child without the interference of the parent. It's important to allow the teacher the liberty to teach as they should and to allow the child the independence to learn in their fashion. All the teachers at the school are energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate of the school, school's principles, and our children. To witness the transformation of our children with the encouragement of the teachers is priceless. My 10 year olds' personal growth has expanded exponentially! I'm so proud of her. It takes a village to raise a child, as a single mother, I need the reinforcement to solidify the foundation and fundamentals of morale character to instill in my daughter. School of Rock, it's teachers and staff help to shape my daughter into a strong, vibrant, mature, respectful young lady, and for that I'm grateful.
