Just started about a month ago, but I am already happy with how my boys are excited about learning their instruments. Love that it is encouraging them to listen to music more and they are beginning to recognize the different instruments in songs. Also love that they are not only learning the instrument they want to learn the most, but are learning all of them in Rock 101. They seem to like their teachers a lot in their private lessons too. It is so much more fun for them to learn in a group than it was in their previous lessons at a different place. Loving it so far!!
I love that School of Rock was there when I needed them to help restore my interest in music and rock and roll. I've advanced substantially on my guitar in the past 18 months and plan to continue advancing to someday reach my full potential.
School of Rock enables individual musicians to play in a "band" scenario which gives all of the participants a new experience from playing solo or with a recording, this is critical to a musicians growth.
We like that our son LOVES learning from SOR instructors, and that he equally enjoys the group dynamic /learning experience that Rock 101 provides. A great factor to the program also includes the flexibility in scheduling if issues arise. We are so happy with SO Littleton.
We love the support structure that exists between the kids that allows them all to be better. Our daughter has been in the programs at SOR for 3 years. When she first joined, she had taken individual lessons for a few years and we went to see a seasonal recital. This is far superior in every way. It pairs kids of all different talents, allows them to play together, and creates mentor/mentee relationships that teach amazing soft skills.
My son and I are both very new to SoR (I'm in the adult program, he's in Rock 101). I have to say I wish I was a kid so I could just come and hang out. The instructors we've both had in our respective areas are very knowledgable, and even though they go from lesson to lesson, they definitely don't treat it as "oh man...another lesson." The genuinely enjoy what they're doing and what they're teaching. For my son his instructor not only gives detailed notes about what they worked on, but gives specifics on what he should practice. Rock 101 is great as well; he enjoys it more than I expected he would, and always comes out of it bursting to tell me what he sang on, what he played keyboard on, and makes us listen to the songs in the car as well. The adult program is very good too. I enjoy having instruction followed by a band practice with somebody there who can help us out on sections of the songs we're having problems with, and telling us in no uncertain terms how it could be better. I wish we had discovered SoR earlier.
