Paloma and Mateo had an amazing week! They learned new skills and gained more confidence. I especially liked how much support and encouragement Mateo (age 9) got from the older more experienced kids. I've shared my enthusiasm for SOR with friends and two families we know have booked camp weeks for their kids this summer!
I love how you encourage kids to be their unique selves. Everyone's personality came through. It's such a great outlet for kids [LAST NAME REMOVED] I do love seeing the mixed ages all together.
Authentic || Fun and packed with a fantastic staff. We love School of Rock N 7th Street Philadelphia - We have been attending SOR approaching 6 years now - we have had a ton of great teachers - though our particular favorite is Christian our vocal teacher. He trains our 14 year old son. He is the Best for so many reasons - to name a few, patient, acceptance, cool, thoughtful, kind, Fun, knowledgable!
The band aspect is a huge plus! It allows students to put to use the skills they are learning in their individual sessions, which I believe leads to a longer commitment to the pursuit of learning how to play instruments. Too often now schools don't offer music in this way ie concert or marching band, and this is a safe, supportive environment for learning how to play with others. The lessons are diverse in the areas covered and allow for individual musical tastes to be explored.
What do I like - Everything. Front Desk Cecile is super kind, friendly and supportive. Our current vocal teacher Christian is "Awesome". He trains our 14 year son - he is FUN but more importantly really knows his trade. He is smart, kind, and naturally knowledgeable about how to work with kids. I can not say enough great things about our experience at SOR Philadelphia. We have been part of school of rock for over 5 years. Our son has taken a course in almost everything SOR offers and we have never been disappointed. The groups sessions are terrific also. Thank you SOR Philadelphia.
Love the enthusiasm from the teachers and how much freedom you give the kids to explore what they're into. We have been thrilled with both private lessons and Rock 101!
We love School for Rock! We have highly recommended it to friends. The one thing we would change is getting the full song list for the performance at least a month in-advance rather than a few weeks advance. This will give the busier kids a chance to more fully learn the music.
