The staff genuinely care and make music fun for the kids. Every music instructor we have dealt with loves what they do and it reflects on how they teach. My son looks forward to his lessons every week!
We love the family atmosphere that is created by owners and staff
Our son has been at SOR for about 3 years and he’s knowledge and ability has continues to grow. Having the kids in bands is such a smart way to help musicians learn and improve. And the concerts are so fun!
Thank you for all that each of you do for our kiddos!
School of Rock San Antonio is beyond fantastic. Our kids have gone there for guitar, keyboard, and voice, as well as the bands, for three years, and it has been excellent. All of their teachers care very much for the kids they teach and about being outstanding musicians. The teachers are incredible musicians, and you can tell they absolutely love what they do. The owners, Michele and Andrew, are exceptional. The staff are all wonderful people. Learning an instrument is one thing but learning to be in a band and get up on stage is another. It is outstanding how these kids learn to perform like they do, and every time, I could not believe I was watching my own kid up there because SOR brought out the performer in them, and I was amazed. One of my children had a rough situation in elementary school dealing with a learning disability and experiencing low self-esteem, but when she walked into SOR, that all went away. When she was on stage, she was confident, self-assured, and SOR brought out all her beautiful talent. It has made all the difference in her young life. She even wrote and sang a song that won a statewide award in Texas for the PTA Reflections contest. This would not have been possible without her SOR experience. My son never wanted to stop his lessons as it gave him a chance to enjoy music and have fun. We are sadly moving to another state, and leaving SOR San Antonio has been so very hard for us. We give it our highest recommendation, and we love them. Our teachers John, Stacy, David, Marcello, Mike, Mary, Charlie, and others over the past few years are all wonderful people. We will miss them greatly.
I love that I get a full 45 minutes one-on-one with a great teacher who not only helps me with the technical aspects of singing but also with how my self-talk and stress level affect singing. I've learned ways to have more positive self-talk and reduce my stress level in my lessons. They help my singing and in my life overall.
I love hearing little kids playing Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, etc. It’s a great way to get started in music. I’m an experienced musician of 50+ years. I switched from guitar to drums quite a few years back, and this is a way for me to keep my guitar chops up.
Amazing teachers that understand your learning process and teach you accordingly.
Classes are fun and relaxed but always going towards. They are always willing to help!
My favorite day of the week!
The owners and all of the instructors, (that are the best in their field) make you feel like family every time you walk through the door! My guitar instructor and vocal instructor are awesome and know how to explain things so I can easily understand it! The adult bands ROCK!! We're getting ready for a show on the 17th and 18th, have been practicing like crazy and are ready to ROCK N ROLL and have a great time! I recommend School of Rock to anyone young or old to learn and experience the rock and roll adventure and have fun while you're doing it!!!!!

The concerts you put on for everyone to perform are such an amazing experience for both the kids and their families. I love how flexible you all are when we have to reschedule. I love the patience you have with my kid at a young age, it only helps increase his love for music. I love the enthusiasm and support and I can tell my kiddo has learned so much! We love y'all and are so grateful for everything you do.
My son (a natural introvert and musician) adores a bass line. He has played baritone sax for 6+ years and wanted to learn bass guitar. After getting an awesome bass for Christmas (parents for the win) and moving to San Antonio, we enrolled him in lessons and he started with a beginning band. He has progressed quickly and enjoys practicing at home (regardless of the hour). I don’t have to hunt him down to get to lessons and band practice, he has been self-advocating for these.
All around, a great experience.
The format of instruction and the peer groups assembled by skill levels to give students a stress free learning environment which promotes the “fun” of learning how to play music.
My child has found her people! She doesn't get bored, loves it so much she volunteers to help out with the younger kids. The performance aspect is wonderful because she gets to showcase her talent and can gauge improvement from season to season.
