Joshua Gabriel was awesome to have as my first ever vocal instructor! He provided valuable performance feedback and taught me new concepts and techniques during every lesson. He was patient, thoughtful and concise in answering my questions. He has a professional & collaborative teaching style that puts new students at ease, and it also felt like he really respected my time during every lesson. I feel I really learned a lot from him in a short time & would definitely recommend him to others! Thanks, Josh!
I have been LOVING the School of Rock Adult Program. The teachers and staff are awesome. The individual lessons and coached group rehearsals have been very helpful in my development and most importantly... so much fun! Having the coached rehearsals for lesson application and live performances for practice motivation has been so much better than past experiences elsewhere of lessons only. The community of fellow students are so positive and encouraging as we learn and work on songs together. I have been telling musician friends to come join me and hope to see my children do the same in the kids program. Excited to be here and planning to join on future semesters at School of Rock!
You have great programs that offer a wide range of ability and interest. Your teachers are nice and helpful and tailor the experience to individual needs. You also attract nice participants. Great place to foster friendships which is hard to do as we get older. Thank you, SOR! - [NAME REMOVED]
Rachel was so supportive in my voice/singing lessons. She was prepared with plans and tailored our work towards my specific goals. I was a little nervous I would be talked down to or treated as a kid because so many children are in your programs. However, Rachel's work for me was age appropriate, respectful, and thoughtful and fun. I learned so much in every session. My "homework" was challenging but not overwhelming. I look forward to coming back again in the future!
The chance to play music with other like-minded people is always a pleasure. And the opportunity to learn new skills is an added bonus. Plus all of the people; SOR instructors and staff and all of the people who come to be a part of the programs are wonderful and encouraging.
It has changed the way my son engages with learning music. Before School of Rock he would go each week to his guitar lesson and he enjoyed the lesson but then would come home and barely picked his guitar up. It would be a battle to get him to practice. After his first week at School of Rock, he was motivated to practice and learn. Practicing and learning isn’t just about him getting better, it’s about his whole group and being able to play with everyone. Practicing his guitar at home went from being “homework” to his love and passion. School of Rock has fostered his love of music, helped him blossom in his identity, learn accountability, and gain confidence he did not have before.
SOR programs are well organized, managed well, and are loads of fun. The staff is patient but will encourage you and push you to succeed. The end result is being able to play music you never thought you could play.
Great drum instructors, who are really pushing our son to expand his skills while also having fun. And the creativity of the music directors for each performance is so inspiring. It’s great to see such passionate people getting our kids!
