MONTEVALLE OF SCOTTS VALLEY is a 55+ Senior Community with old, creaky, senile geriatrics who are unmanageable, accusatory, and impossible to deal with. We cannot hear, see, talk coherently, or reason. But we demand to be respected and catered to. IT WE ARE SENIORS - DA $#M ** !T - WE WORKED FOR IT, EARNED IT, AND WE DEMA/ND IT NOW ... ( .....don't talk back ...) SENIOR HELPERS was founded by entrepreneurs who researched the availability of potential caregivers among all those trying to afford to live here. Happily, there seem to be enough desperate locals willing to do their best to tolerate (see above description) "US" - AND make it work. Shad and team keep stitching them back together, rotating them among clients in the hope of delaying burnout, and recruiting new caregivers -- to actually make it work. AMAZING JOB. So far we have had 2 caregivers alternating, with 4 hrs/day, 3 days a week. The willingness to help with household tasks, kitchen, laundry and bathroom cleaning has been a godsend! I was exhausted from flu last month and couldn’t keep it up. My spouse has moderate Cognitive impairment, and is able to do basic self- care but needs help with fixing meals and making sure he gets his medicines. They have also encouraged him to take walks, which has been wonderful.
