When our basement drain backed up (not the sump) and we discovered water on the carpet in our family room and partially down the hall, we attempted to extract as well as we could to protect from further damage. When we called Service Master, the response time was amazing but we were not prepared for what came next. As you know, they eliminated the wet damaged carpet and pad moving everything in its path, brought in equipment and fans moving very quickly.
What's next? One of the SM Team left us a beautiful brochure that has lists lots as to what they might be doing to mitigate our loss with nothing checked and there are pages of options. Little disappointing. I will be following up to see what comes next in the process as our claims adjustor advised that they would be back out to wipe everything down and to clean up. Or just to find out if we can start cleaning up.
Side note - - As an insurance agent, I would like to know that my customers have had everything explained to them and that there's a contact person who they can reach out to with questions about their process.
Service technicians were knowledgeable, efficient and above all friendly and courteous. Everyone I had contact with made sure to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand. I did not have to wait days to hear from someone, they called me and set up appointment in a very timely manner. They took care of my restoration issue professionally and completely.
