The three years my son played basketball ball at the Shadowbend location have been a great experience for my son. Coach Cory Atkins Is the main reason my son chose to stay in basketball. My son Aidan had never played sports before joining the YMCA and always said if he did not get coach Cory he didn't want to play. I would sign him up as soon as registration opened up and request coach Cory and the certain friends my son has made playing on the team as the registration form asks. Coach Cory encourages the kids to play better, to work as a team, also do well in school. My son loved his team so much he would tell his friends to join the team. It is great when you have a coach who is consistent and treats all the kids with fairness. If there were more coaches like coach Cory I am certain all the teams would be full. I give Shadowbend YMCA 5 stars.

Coach [FIRST NAME REMOVED] was amazing with his team. He treats his players like family and builds a strong community bond. Every parent requests him every season. He doesn’t have to recruit kids because my kids thrive under his leadership and guidance. My kids love playing basketball for him.

Clean pool for lap swimming, YMCA staff is friendly and helpful. Please keep Lap lanes for lap swimming only, I am noticing more often that folks are standing, walking in the lanes, they have over hlf the pool to do that in. It's frustrating to lap swim in concgested lanes when folks are not using lap lanes for that purpose.
