I recently joined the Shady Grove YMCA last week. Your front desk representative, Debbie, took me through the sign-up requirements in an easy and professional manner. You are very fortunate to have Debbie representing the organization. Note: She always speaks.
We are new to this YMCA
Never the less we like the facilities provided .I have used the swimming pool along with my wife and son Gurushyam Mony who has made us join YMCA .We are happy
Everyone is so friendly and kind. You walk through the hallways and everyone smiles and says "Good morning!" to you. The class instructors always come by and personally say how glad they are that you came and they ask you to please come back soon. They take time to tell you more about upcoming classes as well. I love how there are so many age groups represented. It's like truly having a community of neighbors all working out and having fun together!
I like that you offer so many different programs at different times of day. Most of the instructors are very good and some are excellent including Dottie. The Monday morning yoga classes need to be in a larger studio as Studio 3 cannot contain all that appear if the sign-up list and the waitlist all appear, plus people who wish to take the class are being turned away because there is not enough room. Laura is an excellent instructor who manages the lists well but she also gets a lot of flack from people who want to take the class and cannot get in. This is not fair to her.
Also, I have noticed recently that the floors are not being properly cleaned especially in Studio 3 and the hallways. In studio 1, there is a fan on the back wall that is malfunctioning and the mirrors are not cleaned despite my asking the front desk to have the mirrors cleaned since it looks like spit is on them in several places - front and back walls.
Something has changed at the Y in the last few weeks and not for the better, especially the cleaning department.
