We bought a 2 week membership while we were visiting family in Henrico. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful! We used the pool and I took the Zumba classes. I have been taking Zumba for 15 years at my rec centers in Colorado. The Zumba instructors at your YMCA were the BEST I ever had! We are coming back in June and we will sign up again. The layout of the equipment and the abundance of options is great at the Shady Grove Y! I’ve worked out at other locations: Tuckahoe, Northside, and downtown. I prefer the equipment at Shady Grove because most of the treadmills face a window with a nice view (not Main St. like downtown), the room with mats and stretch equipment is more private than other locations, and the rooms for classes are easy to locate. The only areas I would like to see improved are the locker room (carpet) and showers (mold, hairs, and dripping faucets). The staff at SG is amazing and friendly!
