Staff is great. Despite being in the middle of a renovation the facility was a pleasure to work out in. Pool was warm and locker rooms were clean. Great place to work out!

Love the AOA classes where I can really work hard (and really sweat) but they give options if it’s too much for you or if you need a bigger challenge. I especially like how they stress doing moves controlled (which is harder) instead of fast and relying on momentum. Also, the diabetes prevention program is very useful for support to get on the right path.

The receptionist Jessica (?), early morning, and the lifeguard, Mark, are both friendly and approachable. My home pool has been closed for HVAC repairs. It's been great being able to swim and work out at the Somerville Y. I'll probably continue to go at least once a week. Thank you, L [LAST NAME REMOVED]

That heated pool is awesome! I stopped in last week after work for a swim and that warm water felt so good, I was having such a hard time getting out. I kept telling myself, "ok, just one more lap and then I'm going to get out. Ok, ONE more lap and then I'm finally going to get out." I must have done that at least like ten times before I finally got out of the pool because I was enjoying it so much.

Somerville YMCA has been a pillar of youth development and a source of fitness and health possibilities for the overall community, especially seniors. It is good to see that the facilities are being improved. In addition to the tangible assets, such as facilities and equipment, the Y continues to be a home for socialization and friendship. It is a great place to meet with friends. The staff is helpful and friendly.

While she also thoroughly enjoyed her previous one, my daughter absolutely LOVES her gymnastics class this go round! She says her teacher is so nice and I can see the improvements she has been making as well.

The class was held at the Bridgewater facility. The teacher, Peter, was excellent. He kept the material light but maintained an attention to detail. He was patient with those of us who were struggling with the material. He clearly likes his job and it showed in how he presented the class.

A lot of great classes are offered. It is also in a convenient location. The instructors for my daughter's classes have been very kind and helpful. The equipment in the gym is great, but it would be beneficial if there were a few one day classes to teach how to use the machines properly.
