Best of all are the teachers. Kaelyn, for example, gives all the alignment tips to help us to get into and to sustain poses, and she tells us what not to do so that we won't hurt ourselves. Even though her classes offer challenges, she asks us not to push beyond our edges, not to be guided by false goals. New instructors have just joined the roster of classes, and I can't wait to take their classes too. Of course, I add my voice to others in singing Emma's praises.
I love too that this studio offers a community class. That caring about our society and inclusiveness is beautiful.
The spirit of South Mountain Yoga is friendly, generous, and thoughtful. Each class begins with some ideas from yoga philosophy, daily events, and personal experiences. I get to take those new perspectives into all aspects of my life. We all do, and, along with the teachers' support, we students encourage each other.
The studio is pretty and well maintained.
The teachers are incredible, the students care about the practice of yoga and are friendly and diverse. There is nothing fake or disingenuous about it. It is just an open space to practice with other people who want to also feel good.
