I have trained with Mike 2 1/2 years which has greatly increased flexibility, strength, movement and endurance. He reads my body and does the exact exercise to improve the function.

Special Strong fills a real need, especially as disabled teens and adults often cannot participate in sports, ride their bikes, go outside unattended or get exercise through normal channels. Medicines like Risperdal cause weight gain and metabolic changes which lead to obesity without sufficient physical activity. Special Strong offers classes in the evening and weekends when parents can attend. As a mom, I enjoy the social aspect of hanging out with other moms who have a child like mine and I do not feel so alone.

My trainer, Jeff, is absolutely the best. I have improved because he takes the time to figure out what’s the best strategy to help me meet my goals. He is compassionate, caring and makes me laugh. Working out with him is always the best part of my week. I look forward to seeing what I can accomplish that day with his constant encouragement, confidence, and inspiration as well as his ability to challenge me to push myself to the next level. I appreciate him so much!

We have been with the Friendswood TX location for several years now. It started with one day a week and quickly built to 2. My husband Gregg had a massive stroke at 49 years old and lost 42% of his brain. With under 65 benefits we are limited on services. Finding the money to put towards this is a must. Gregg is living stronger with this disabilities because of Mike Lutey, Jeff Cheslock and their team.
