The school itself is always pristine and clean. Ge best part though are the teachers by far. Our son just moved up to toddlers and we are so sad to lose Ms Gabby, Ms Amber, Ms Nicole, Ms Lyriq and others I’m forgetting. But we are lucky that they have such nice floats our son loves like Mr Griffin and Ms Sue and we’re excited to get to know Ms Melanie and her crew.
We have had such wonderful experiences in both the infant and toddler rooms. Miss Melanie, Miss Ke-arria, Miss Hailey, Miss Addi and Miss Sue have been so welcoming during our transition from infant to toddler and we can tell so much growth and learning has happened in just a few short weeks. We feel so fortunate to be at SBS Maple Grove!
Everything about Step by Step is a perfect fit for our family. Our kids are internally motivated to learn, care for their environment and develop skills thanks to all of the amazing staff at Step by Step. We are so thankful that our kids have such great teachers as models and guides throughout their growth.
Teachers and staff are like family! I know that nobody could help me raise my kids as well and they are such a great team. The extracurriculars are so much fun for my kids and the family events have been so great getting to know other families. The respect and commitment are unmatched. SBS Maple Grove is the bests school and we will stay forever!
The Montessori method fosters individual learning and community living while holding personal responsibility as a core value. The outside play spaces are invaluable. I see so many ways to incorporate creativity with learning real life skills in all of the outdoor play areas. To keep it short, I will also say the inclusion of plant and wildlife learning on a daily basis through the classroom environment encourages another broad spectrum of learning opportunities.
It feels homely when we interact with the school staff. All of them are very kind and warm hearted individuals. They keep us updated on how our child is doing through out the day. All this helps us build a trust on the service they are providing.
The teachers here are so invested and genuinely interested in our child! They take wonderful care of her and she has definitely improved in certain skills by being around other kids and the teachers here. They are always so excited to see her and she loves going to school each day.
My son started in September and everyone was so welcoming. They gave him such kind words and make him feel safe. I’m grateful to all the teachers there and he loves it there so far!
The ability for my son to grow to be more autonomous, independent, inquisitive, and hard working along side his wonderful teachers and equally as kind director staff.
Step by Step does a great job of introducing a variety of learning methods and curriculum into my child's day. I'm amazed by what he has been able to learn at such as young age. The teachers care about their jobs and put thought into what they do. Step by Step clearly invests in good staff who stick around as a result. I feel good about sending my son to Step by Step and can tell he enjoys it!
In the Nido classrooms, I had a good connection with the teachers and aids and was able to hear weekly about how my son was doing. Outside of one conference in his toddler classroom, I hear very little about how he is doing as an individual and where I can help him at home as a parent. I do recognize that the child to teacher ratio is different at this age and I imagine there is much less time to connect with parents. However, this is a difference I see between the aids in the classrooms as well who are far less communicative at pick-up then those I've experienced in previous classrooms.
Step by Step should consider offering a better balanced breakfast. I've never seen my son or other children receive anything other than cereal. Many other local centers of similar or lesser expense offer a balanced breakfast with more variety throughout the week and even hot meals.
With all that said, I would recommend Step by Step to others.
The high level of engagement and interaction with the staff and the students. Makes for a warm welcoming environment. From a safety perspective, I also appreciate having the front door entrance only be accessible via code.
