I love the facility and the people. The people are by far the most incredible, caring & funny people I’ve ever met. I know walking in there I’m gonna smile because the workers alwahs make it happen. They make me feel so welcomed.
I joined because I needed the exercise of the water aerobics for my knees, (one replaced), and for my rheumatoid arthritis. I use the gym just once a week on Fridays. I totally enjoy the two water aerobic classes with Betty - Monday at 9 a.m. and Wednesday at 9 a.m. I am getting around better without my cane since I started with the water aerobics when I joined. The evening aerobic classes are not a good time for me. It is a half hour trip each way so that limits how often I can go to the "Y". Despite the distance I am glad that the "Y" is available for me.
Like the classes, friendly staff and patrons, one thing I’m disappointed in is that there was a change either with my health insurance fitness program, or the y, in what insurance fitness programs they participate with. The ymca participated in my United healthcare free fitness membership in 2024. I forget the program name now. There was no change in my insurance at all except United healthcare changed the name of the fitness program to silver sneakers. As a result y doesn’t participate in silver sneakers. I really don’t understand why. Everything is exactly the same. Btw hate name silver sneakers lol. Anyway, I am paying now because I do enjoy the Y and am enjoying being in better shape now! (It has gotten so expensive though). Please add silver sneakers to your free membership! Or what can I do to get silver sneakers included! Thanks for your time!
