I have one eleven and one thirteen year tutoring at Sylvan. Both of their grades have improved since we started getting them help in math fundamentals and occasional homework help. Areas in which they had lacked confidence and were in need of foundational work, they now approach with renewed optimism. The kids look forward to the tutoring sessions (1 hr ea., twice a week), and they return afterward happy and ready to go on with their other activities. The staff is very helpful with feedback on progress and an academic plan going forward. They include the kids in the feedback sessions, and treat the kids with respect. Sylvan's rates are pricey, but competitive. For our family the extra monthly expenditure is worth it.

We have a four year old coming in to prepare him for kindergarten. He has a hard time with pronunciation and wanted to get extra help with phonics. Sylvan has been a safe and fun place for my little one to get some tutoring. We are hoping it helps but more importantly, we have had a wonderful experience as everyone has been so helpful and nice. My son loves the reward system and earning coins. Definitely something I'd recommend to parents to try if they want to try a new approach in certain academic areas.

All three of my children attend Sylvan for math support. I appreciate how the transition from drop off to work is smooth, they get started right away. My kids feel supported, encouraged and are learning a lot! If anything, the tuition rates are high and that is something that needs to be reconsidered especially for families that can't afford but their children need the help.
