My son was a full year behind in reading when we started. They got him caught up within a year (basically learning 2 years of reading). We took a year off of Sylvan and he got behind again because the school system is terrible at helping kids who fall behind despite "giving them extra help". He is back at Sylvan and learning more there in 2 hours than what he learns at school for a full week. Thanks for helping him and keeping him at grade level with all his skills!
My grandson is attending Sylvan Cedar Rapids for help with math skills and I am extremely happy with the way things are going. The small teacher/student ratio is exactly what my grandson needed to help him stay focused on the task at hand. He has really liked his instructors and thinks it’s helping him understand math skills that he was struggling with. The owner and his staff are very helpful, knowledgeable, and it’s obvious they really want their students to be successful. I highly recommend this Sylvan location.
The staff is very friendly and my child has really enjoyed the teachers he worked with and they have really helped increase his skills and confidence in math and reading.
Sylvan had helped my daughter so much not only academically, but with her confidence as well. She enjoys going to her sessions & I’ve seen an improvement in many areas of her life. Choosing Sylvan was one of the best decisions I could have made. I know what she’s learning now will stick with her for many years to come. Not to mention the people at Sylvan are genuinely involved with my daughter & know her likes & dislikes. The staff are close with all the kids that attend, giving them high fives & being a positive influence.
The staff at Sylvan are always warm & inviting every time we come in. They make sure my daughter is welcomed & comfortable there. They call her by her favorite nickname & know about her personally. I’ve seen her confidence beginning to increase. After each session she tells me what she learned & we have interactive conversations about what she’s learning & who she sat with & her teachers. I feel that she’s much more engaged & enjoying the set up they have at Sylvan. I’m excited about watching her continued progression working with Sylvan. I can tell that she’s going to be successful & her confidence is going to soar.
I like the communication I like that were able to rearrange schedules if possible I like that Maddax likes going and looks forward to going and I feel that he’s improving already.
My son is in 7th grade and behind at 6.3. We enrolled him as his IEP at school and what he’s learning is not enough of the right instruction for what he needs and we want to close his gap once and for all. Sylvan is helping him to like school again and get him on other side to not be behind. Within 3 weeks, we’ve already seen how much it’s been able to master - so clearly he’s teachable and able to learn.
