Our son has been attending virtual tutoring sessions for enrichment purposes since the beginning of his grade 3 year. We rarely miss a session! What makes the weekly reading and math sessions invaluable are the teachers themselves who sincerely care about helping children learn to read and write. There are a multitude of factors that help children achieve academically, emotionally, and socially. Sylvan is one of those factors that we feel as parents lend significant support to kids! We will continue our time with Sylvan, and hope to enrol our younger son who can't wait to be part of the after-school reading and math activities.

My daughter continues to enjoy and have a great time gaining more in depth knowledge on curriculums she has challenges with ant school and it is beneficial to have supplemental help outside school from her Sylvan English and French tutors. She is able to build more connection, confidence and able to respond well to her teachers and able to master each subject matters. Our family is grateful to be part of the Sylvan Oakville community. Our son started with weekly sessions in reading support at Sylvans Oakville location over two years ago. With post pandemic jitters our goal was more preventive and to have outside eyes on his performance to ensure he was meeting curriculum standards. It is very easy for children to get behind with school dynamics, classroom size, teacher absence other distractions that are beyond our control. Regular one on one time with a dedicated teacher who gets to know your child really helps parents understand strengths and weaknesses and where to focus efforts at home and homework time. This worked so well we have decided to continue with this model regardless of how well he is doing with his marks. We were so happy that we added a second weekly session this year focusing specifically on math to ensure he grasps the concepts and is in line with ( or exceeding ) the curriculum.. We find our son enjoys the one-on-one sessions and feels accountable to the teachers as well. We will be using the same strategy with our second son. Stacy and her team provided us with skilled instructors who met and exceeded our needs. I would have no hesitation recommending this service based on our experience.

My three children have had math tutors for years. We’ve tried them all — Oxford, various private tutors, you name it. Sylvan is the first place I’ve genuinely noticed an improvement in their grades and overall comprehension. Not only that, they’ve noticed too. They ask to go to tutoring now and before a test, they tell me they NEED to go. Thank you Tara, and your team of amazing teachers for making math a lot less scary for all of us.

My son has been Sylvan for 10 sessions during the summer. I am very pleased about the outcome. He didn’t like reading. Now he is motivated, loves going there and is making the amazing progress in reading. The staff and the teachers are friendly and accommodating, especially Tara. She is very professional. Looking forward to further progress from him!

We are delighted with our experience with Sylvan (Oakville). Tara, Steacy and staff were always professional, easy to work with, and kind and accommodating for our busy schedules. Our child was motivated and enjoyed his sessions, developing skills and confidence with each lesson. We will return when needed, and would highly recommend Sylvan to others.

My two boys love to go to the centre for study. They said the instructors are friendly and organized. They feel comfortable asking questions when they are not sure. Also they are very flexible with schedules. I had a few times that I needed to switch the times to different times in that week, they tried their best to accommodate my requests.
