The professional care was second to none - I couldn't recommend it highly enough. My physio, Caitlin, was able to identify my injury and get me on a personal plan to get me back fit and ready for the marathon.
Ten classes are expensive but with Dario, Simone and Caitlin, I definitely felt like I get my money's worth. They are all upbeat and fun, push you to work hard and give you progressions, and fill the whole 55 minutes with proper exercise.
However, some other instructors do not push you as much, finish the class early, or use the last 5 - 10 minutes to do time-filling stretches. I find that frustrating.
I am pregnant and have now done my last Ten class before I go on maternity leave. I found the prenatal assessment was not great (the instructor doing it did not seem well prepared, well-informed or well-trained - she pretty much gave me the 2 sheets of paper and read from them, and was not able to answer questions). The prenatal exercise adjustments were excessively cautious - I was more than able to do many of the "normal" exercises well into my 2nd trimester, and felt forced into regressing before I needed to do so. Caitlin mentioned that the prenatal protocol might be reviewed soon: I really hope that it is, because it seemed out of date, and I also hope that the instructors are better trained on the new protocol.
Treatment from Jay Watson, the best sport massage person, I have ever been treated by. I have followed him round all your clinics. Friendly reception team at Chancery Lane and the booking team are always helpful too.
I love that I'm always greeted by a welcoming smile when I arrive at the studio- shout out to Nisha and Ty there! The facilities are consistently tidy and clean, and I like the setup of Hatton where there's the chairs outside the studio doors to sometimes have a chat with the other clients before we go in. Not all studios have that setup and I think it makes a difference at Hatton, creating a bit more community. Special mention of course must go to my favourite instructor, Shane, for his classes which are always very challenging and have good vibes. He sets the tone of the class really well right from the introduction explaining what we’re focussing on that session, and he pays close attention to everyone's limitations and provides adjustments where needed. You can tell he puts a lot of thought into planning each class because it feels like week after week I’m making progress when I finally master specific exercises we’ve been practising, then straight away get humbled by the new ones he introduces. The general changing-room chit chat afterwards is always very complimentary of Shane, with clients specifically choosing his classes on the schedule.
I’ve really enjoyed classes at 10 H&F . It’s a small studio and instructors have paid a lot of attention to my individual needs. I particularly like Shane’s classes. They are fun and lighthearted but you never doubt the expertise of the trainer and his interests in getting results for you.
Really enjoyed the classes and the instructors especially having not done reformer before - feel like it really helps with the low impact but high intensity workouts that work the whole body.
