I am an lady in my 80s with a torn rotator cuff and no cartilage in my knees. I have had excellent treatment from one of their senior physical therapists for 4 years and worked regularly in the gym on a specially designed exercise program. I was able to maintain and sometimes improve function and was very pleased. Now however, they are closing that location, my therapist has left and the other therapist that I work with will be moving to other TEN locations that would be very difficult for me to get to… So I can recommend TEN if they have a location that works for you…
I enjoyed most about my experience with ten health fitness is the physiotherapists, no matter who they are, come across as friendly, warm, inviting and caring. They seem able to serve every kind of people.
Ten health have been my go to for all my physio needs. They have been there when the specialist bone spine doctor informed me that I will never be the same again, making me feel like an invalid! They were there even when my physio wasn’t on duty that day. The manager of the ten health store listened to me crying on the phone after meeting that specialist doctor and encouraged me by saying it’s not the end of the world, I have a chance to be normal and do the long walks I was accustomed to.
My first physio was the best, I got a double, physio and counsellor! He would listen and understand as I suffered back then with a lot of anxiety, so coming out just to see him was very hard for me. He made space for me by still giving me the full session even if I was late because I’d wind up crying in his office because of the difficulty of having to go out. This physio also adapted to my needs, when I wasn’t up for going out, he offered telephone sessions which helped Immensly.
My second physio was very hands on. His massages of my problem areas I found to be very helpful and when I found a ten health much closer to my home, walking distance, he set me up with a physio in that particular branch, which helped to make me feel ‘safe and secure’.
My third physio now, she comes across as being really good. My knee and leg muscles seem to be going through it, but her massages, her advice, have been super helpful so far. The fact that I can walk in and change the date of my appointment due to an emergency with my legs was by the far one of the most helpful.
I am very happy with my service at ten health & fitness. Plus, all the receptionists that I have come across are all bright, super friendly, smiling, professional, beautiful good looking people with excellent customer service skills.
I am 82 years old with a badly torn L rotator cuff and significant arthritis. I most appreciated the personal attention of a knowledgeable physical therapist to design an appropriate treatment plan for someone of my age. I am reasonably fit but my needs and abilities are different from those of young athletes. My treatment plan/exercise program is rigorous but designed with my strengths and abilities in mind.
The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. The area itself was clean, including the bathrooms, very clean. Was given a short tour by my physiotherapist Amy Christie. Amy was very friendly, she seemed to know what she was talking about, more than the gp that supposedly diagnosed me. She has taken care of my needs and provided exceptional service. I like the location as I can walk from.home, a 30 minute walk, much more convenient. Excellent handover from my old physiotherapist in ten health Notting hill gate. With this Amy was able to understand me perfectly and continue care, including the new symptoms. Very happy with the service. Do wish it didn't cost so much.
I veered between Notting Hill Gate (for Adam) and Notting Hill (for Sydney). They both provided different but mutually supportive aspects of the Pilates experience which, without Adam, is now less balanced. Now he has left, I'm trying to find who can provide the Ying to Sydney's terrific Yang. You have some good trainers but one or two whose English is difficult to understand. I'm working my way through the list.
I enjoy coming to the Notting Hill branch. Staff are lovely, others attendees are lovely. I feel great after a class, and enjoy working with different trainers who have different styles
