The center itself provides a very calming atmosphere. I like coming into what feels like a home rather than a spa or sterile feeling environment. Charles is excellent. I had a pregnancy massage at a spa as well and after going back to the Abbott Center there is a huge different in experience and knowledge level about the pressure/ tension points that are different for a pregnant woman. I really felt like I was in the hands of an expert who responded to what my body needed and who understand how that was different due to my condition.
The senior neuromuscular therapist who has treated me for back, hamstring, arm, and shoulder problems is a very knowledgeable and skilled practitioner of this mode of therapy. She is a very caring person as well who works very diligently to identify the problem, treat it effectively with trigger point massage, and help facilitate the return of healthy function to dysfunctional muscles with painful trigger points. She also provides guidance on appropriate stretches, exercises, and other treatment options you can do at home.
I love that the therapists at the Abbott Center bring such a holistic approach to each session. While the massage I had was wonderful itself, it was the opportunity to talk about my pain and hear suggestions for lifestyle changes, stretches, and different forms of exercise that could help that took my experience at the Abbott Center to another level. This place is a cut above the rest.
I enjoyed the personalized service and the fact that you were all women. I felt very at ease and the space is very peaceful and homey. My sister and I enjoyed the entire experience. I especially loved Pilates!
