Jack and Dwayne are very helpful and knowledgeable. They answer my questions patiently and cheerfully. They have many years of experience in all kinds of bicycles. Many difference types of bikes in the store to look at and try out.
I requested a new bike for my 75th birthday and we found the perfect fit for me at the BIKE RACK in St. Charles, IL! Lance was very patient with us and concerned about my specific needs as an aging bicycler. They were out of the rear rack, so after some research on the computer he found a vendor who was willing to sell him one of theirs. The new vendor offered to ship it, but Lance said he would pick it up since the store was only 20 minutes from his home, and he didn't want me to wait that long for my bike! A brand-new bike, out of the box, was assembled for me with the rear rack and Bontrager computer no extra charge. Once I got the bike home, I realized that a handlebar adjustment was needed. Once back at the store, Lance made all the adjustments we requested, and I couldn't be happier! Everyone made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout this whole process. I know I am in good hands when I return for future visits!
Every visit to the store is a positive and uplifting experience, with the helpful and experienced mechanics and shop floor personnel gladly dispensing advise. Fellow shoppers and cyclists in the store are also known to be friendly, patient and quick to add banter and chuckles to any conversation.
I sometimes wonder whether I don’t go in there just to feel good.
I've been visiting The Bike Rack going on 35 years now, from when I lived far away in Lombard. Now that I live in the Campton Hills area, TBR is typically my first go-to bike shop in the area. The website is typically accurate regarding products that are in stock, so my visit to the store is never in vain. While I don't own any Trek bicycles (I favor another brand), the store has an excellent assortment of bikes, as well as accessories that have suited my cycling needs time and again. The reason I continue to visit The Bike Rack is the customer service: whether I'm just looking for an accessory or whether I'm visiting for bicycle maintenance, each member of the staff is highly knowledgeable, extremely polite, and a big fan of cycling. I always feel welcome when I walk through their doors. Fifty years is a long time for a LBS to be in business, so I wish the team many more years of success in their location -- in the meantime, I'll keep coming back every season. Cheers!
Pretty easy to get a bike recommendation and to purchase. The welcome packet was a nice touch, and the free checks and recommendations are awesome.
I bought my kids bikes at Mill Creek and regret it after going here. I have a new bike shop moving forward.
The folks at The Bike Rack are amazing. Duane in service is MacGyver on recumbent trikes. We have a very old recumbent - finding parts is a long shot - and continuing to put money into it is always a question on the table. Duane finds a way to get that trike working while keeping an eye on the budget. A true gem of a guy. When it is time to retire this old trike, no doubt The Bike Rack will be the only place we'll be shopping for it's replacement.
Much respect to the folks there for giving back to the community through Project Mobility as well. They're doing what they love and doing good for others at the same time. Respect!
