I love the friendly staff. It really feels like they are family here. My daughter grew not only in her skills but also her confidence and focus. It was the best investment we've made outside of our home to date!
The staff at The Little Gym were awesome! Work very well with little kids and made the party very easy and stress free. Staff was very friendly and the activities were age appropriate and all the kids had a lot of fun! Would definitely return!
I loved the fact that I didn't have to do anything other than bring the decorations, food, and of course the birthday boy!!! :)
Plus one of the coordinators walked out in the rain with her umbrella to ensure our guests didn't get drenched.
Thank you all so much for hosting Johnny's party and for making this event as stress free as possible.
I liked how y'all kept the kids moving and interested the whole time. I didn't have any kids coming to me asking what they could do or saying they we bored. That's huge to me. I work with kids everyday so it was nice to be able to kinda sit back for once. Also, I had planned to bring bottled water and ice along with the other drinks we brought but it didn't manage to make it in the cooler that day. You guys were on it and I appreciated that.
We have been with The Little Gym for a little over 2 years now. We recently transitioned into a preschool level class where parents are no longer participating in class. I have become increasingly aware of the, albeit minimal sometimes, dangers when the children are not being monitored at their stations. Keeping with Little Gym policy, it seems that even at this age the children are encouraged but not made to stay with the group. This obviously becomes dangerous when children are climbing on and attempting skills that they are not ready for. Another concern is the discipline policy. I understand that a large group of 3-5 year olds is hard to control at all times, but when a child is acting in aggressive, unsafe ways that child needs to be removed from class or at least need a breather minute to calm down. Children at this age are still learning about sharing and taking turns and it is difficult to watch them shove and push and step all over each other while attempting to do skills. My child is guilty of this and I encourage there to be more teacher intervention when these things happen. This leads me to my last concern, the teacher to student ratio. These previous two issues could be helped immensely if there was a smaller teacher to child ratio within the class room. We attended a practice time the other day with 10 kids to one teacher. This teacher frequently has trouble keeping command of the classroom and this leads to what appears to the parents in the lobby as chaotic and unsafe behavior. We have had a wonderful experience with The Little Gym the past couple years, but as we transitioned out of the parent/child class I had anticipated being able to be more "hands off" and frankly that has not been the case. Sometimes I feel as though I might as well be in the room. I have to make sure I am watching my child at all times, because I am aware that the teacher is not always able to do that which has become stressful. Our family continues to be advocates for The Little Gym, we plan on enrolling our younger daughter when she is old enough for parent/child but at some point there is going to be a line drawn in terms of what is a safe environment for my daughter and whether we need to pull her or not.
I love that the teachers make it fun and are really good at including everyone. I also appreciate the updates Ms. ChaCha gives us at the end so we know what they were working on and what to work on at home. My daughter just BEAMS the whole time and she looks forward to TLG ALL week. We just love it and can't thank them enough for their great work!
